"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

March Babies

That's what these two are. We took some time with the fam to celebrate Gigi:
We gathered round and sang...
But this year was a "big one" for Gigi (you can ask her which one) :) so she wanted to go (just girls) up to Dallas for a little overnight treat trip. We stayed at a really fun hotel downtown. AnnMarie looved the elevator!
Posin
Mom wanted to take AM to the American Girl store for her birthday so that was our outing when we woke up the next day.
Here she is by the dolls getting their hair fixed. So funny!
After we perused the store, we had lunch at the little bistro. It was really good!
Our cute menu
Oh, wait, I'm sorry--my eyes drifted away from the AG store for a moment...
Back to the restaurant. They give you a little highchair for your doll to sit in. Doesn't Bitty Baby look alive in this pic?
Our lunch was cut short by a certain four year old who was DYING to go downstairs to pick out her bday gifts. She REALLY wanted this cozy white robe: (just like Mommy's)
(think "Hallelujah chorus" in your head) And then...
Josefina.
That's who she chose. She is a darling Mexican girl from the 1800's. I think she picked her because she has gold earrings and her name sounds cool.
And now she lives with us.
Thank you for sharing your birthday with us, Gigi, and for making little missy's fourth year so special! We love you!

You know my feelings for Josefina. She lives at our house too and we LOVE LOVE LOVE her. Ours is now wearing a soccer jersey (I guess they would have called it "futball" where Josefina is from!) and has her hair down with a bow on top. How funny that these two girls chose her as their first AG doll! Love it!

What a perfect girls get-a-way... minus the missed shopping at SAKS. I can totally hear the chorus singing and AM face is so funny. Can't believe you caught her in the moment... I must say you have become quite the shutterbug lately... very impressed! :)
