"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

Thanksgiving

We spent a beautiful Thanksgiving at Grandma's farm!
These two little farmhands love watching the cows.

Of course the dog whisperer loved playing with Harper and Marley!

Too bright for a selfie, Mommy!

You wouldn't know from this picture, but this one didn't sleep a wink (literally!) that night.  Grrrr…exhausting!  Good thing she's cute...

Carrie Anne's wedding

One of the highlights of our year was traveling to the bEaUtIfUL Atlanta, Georgia, for my cousin, Carrie's, wedding.
We loaded up the whole TX Jurgensen crew and flew east.
Ready to go at the Waco airport at 6 am.

Best airplane sleeper award goes to: Mary Claire!

We arrived in time to check in to the hotel and get our fancy clothes on for the rehearsal dinner.  Sweet Aunt Cindy was ready for us with things to entertain, such as coloring books, markers, candy, and books.  Thank goodness!

The morning of the wedding we set out on a little excursion to see where Dad, Mike, Mimi and Gramps lived.  Here it is!  That darling little house among maples turning colors.  Clark with this short hair cut looks a lot like the "little Donny" in all the pictures I've seen in front of this house in the 50s!

In their wedding attire!

A rare shot of the two of us (this was after I'd wiped all the drool off of my face from staring and swooning over this gorgeous home!)

Uncle Mike and the blushing bride (there is just not much better than the deep south in the fall time)

Doing what we can to entertain a certain someone during the ceremony!

My sweet girl

A rare moment caught on camera of the wild ones being still!

We had a great time!  So glad we went!

Clark's first soccer season

Now that Clark is four, he is finnnnally able to play sports!  (He's been pretty excited!)
Soccer was up first.  Daddy coached with our friend Mr. Brad, and thus became the Gray Sharks!
Team huddle: GO SHARKS!

Our little soccer star, known for his intimidating "power kick" from midfield.

Signature move
(Clark, Lila, Kenley, Brooks, John----missing Miles and Russell)

Team mates for now, cousins for life!

Clark enjoyed having Gigi and Papa come visit his school, watch him sing...

 …and visit the Book Fair!

Halloween 2013

Looking back, this Halloween week was not nearly as hectic as it usually seems.  Not sure why or how?
Anyway, we'll take it.
We made Cinnamon Pumpkin Playdough (Pinterest!) for Clark's Fall  party.  So easy and smelled so good!!!  Definite keeper.

Mrs. Conner and Mrs. Myers's class 2013-2014 PreK3
Hard to believe when AM was in the class, Bubba was just an infant!

I love my cowboy.

That night it was time for the whole crew to get dressed up, and then we headed out to the Fall Festival at church.
Our cowboy and Indians!

Princess Tigerlily showing a little of her {BIG} personality

After the Fall Fest we headed home to sneak in some old fashioned Trick or Treating with Kristiana, Jack, and Elizabeth.  I can't help it.  I love ToTing as much as the kids!

Dallas with Riley

AnnMarie's BFF, Riley, invited her (us) :) to come to Dallas and celebrate her birthday with her at the American Girl store and the Westin!!  So fun and so special that they picked us!  I know Holly got a shot of it, but it was so sweet when they first saw each other!  Lots of excitement. :)

Riley had lots of gift cards to spend!

The restaurant makes it so fun for the girls---every detail is taken care of.  Holly had those adorable matching shirts made for the girls and their dolls!  Love it!

And then back at the Westin they brought beds, pillows, and blankets for the dolls as well as some yummy cupcakes and ice cold milk.  The details!

These two bought BFF necklaces at Sam Moon.

We also had lots of fun eating out and shopping in the big city again. :) I got a little teary as we were driving up to see Emily on Holly's way out of town.  The sweet memories it brought back of all of us in McKinney in our teaching days, newlywed days, and with just our firstborns days!  Precious years I cherish.
The icing on the cake was getting to see Emily and her lil fellas.  I could SQUEEZE baby John all day.   The whole crew minus Carson, Clark, and Mary Claire.  How cute is little Presley Jane??????

Thank you, Holly and Riley, for a wonderful and special getaway weekend.  We feel so honored you chose us and can't wait to see you again!  The only sad part is that it made me realize how much I really miss my friends. :( :(  :(

I think it's time for y'all to consider Waco... ;)
