"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

Shower for Baby John

Clark has a new friend coming just around the corner! (literally) My sweet friend and neighbor, Emmalie, is expecting her first baby, John, next month. I had the privelege of hosting a shower for her with some other good friends.
Here is Em with her mom, Mary, and sister, Amy:
Emmalie with the hostesses (whoops==I handed off my camera before changing the setting!)
Em with Matt's mom and grandma
Opening some great gifts!
Since we knew Emmalie loves all things vintage (can you blame her?), we went with sort of a "county fair" theme.

mini candy apples!
mini corndogs!
we just had too much fun planning this shower
here are a couple of the vintage gifts she received. see the little scotty dog block? hee!
can't wait to meet you, baby john! welcome to the neighborhood!

Super cute! It's been awhile since I have done a first baby shower - so fun with all the details! Love the mini candy apples - might want to get the recipe from you on that one!

The popcorn machine is adorable! I love it! I bet Emmalie loved it too! You should submit the theme and photos to the Hostess with the Mostess blog!
