"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

Round Top

Well, another one of my favorite weekends has come and gone. Emily and I decided this year was definitely more about the sweet (and beautiful) place we stayed at (and of course the company) than necessarily buying stuff.

Some pics from our farmhouse:

Oops! Blogger is giving me fits tonight. Here's a sneak preview of one of my "happies" I found! :)
I loved the kitchen floors...

The house

We were greeted by rows and rows of these!

The dads had another agenda this year...

Emily and I pretending to be old fashioned friends rocking on our old front porch.

Mom and Nancy

Ready for our first day of shopping!! (Treasures at the bottom of the post)

After our long shopping day on Friday, we sat around the table and had a craft night. Not on purpose really, but Emily and I brought our sewing/knitting, and Amy brought her jewelry to work on. Stacy took one for the team! :) We had so much fun laughing at ourselves!

It was sooooooooo pretty! Saturday morning we woke up to this thick blanket of fog. So picturesque!
I look forward to this trip ALL year for many reasons (shopping of course--particularly antiquing, visiting with Emily, a weekend without taking care of babies, etc.), and it always goes by SO quickly! That I don't like.
Now for a quick snapshot of the treasures. Like I said, not many big purchases to speak of this go round, just odds and ends to make my house more of a "home". :)

Ask Emily about these old bingo tiles. She had so much fUn standing in the sun helping me search for numbers 1-31. :)
On the back of this painting, it's entitled, "Little Sister", and that's exactly who's room I put her in.
These are so cute! They are like paper dolls except they're cloth. AM has spent hours playing with them!

Couldn't leave without this darling book. (It's really two in one---you saw the other half earlier.) I have loved reading it to AnnMarie.
(ahem...Imagine this one ironed) :)

This egg cup is in the pattern of my everyday dishes (Spode, Pink Tower). Since it has been recently discontinued, I am always looking for unique pieces to add to my collection. I couldn't leave without this little guy!

What a fun trip! One of the highlights of my yEaR!

Thank you to my wonderful husband, Sean, and his sweet Grandmommy who took care of my "nest" for me so I could go have some fun! xxooo!!
