"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

16 months

Ok this post is picture heavy so the grandmothers will be cheering, but everyone else will be scrolling fast.
We started this month out with an ear infection.  boo.  This picture captures how we he felt.  :(
I caught a few snuggling moments with bro and sis.  I'm hoping to show them these when they're arguing some day!

See if you can notice a theme to some of this month's pictures...

Brother had to go on the PreK field trip.  Hmm...Pretty sure I'll pay a sitter before I do that again.
theme?
Our buddies Katie Mae and Drew had the cutest fall birthday party.  Clark was diggin the corn on the cob.
And this scene at the pumpkin patch with Clark's playgroup was just about the cUtEsT thing you've ever seen.  Yes, that's a banana, bee, shark, dragon, donut, lamb, dinosaur, and garden gnome!!!!  haha  Best costume, Miles.
Did he or didn't he just eat a pumpkin?

Brooks the clown was there too.  This is the best shot I could get of those two!

And then Griffy the skunk came along with Liam and Cullen the (chubby) skeletons. :)
Don't forget Snow White!
And then it started to rain.  But Clark didn't mind!  He started dancing.
Again, sister is the world's greatest comedian!

A Happy Halloween weekend

Well, we had a good one.  It all started Friday morning before school (and the Fall party) that AM announced to me she'd like to be a cat--not Barbie the Mermaid.
ok. One black leotard, black tights, and dance skirt later....walla...cat costume!  All we had to do was make a couple of ears and staple them to a headband.  phew.  I hope she doesn't think it will always be this easy to whip up a costume!

Jump to Sunday night!
(Friday night we had a fall festival at church, but I didn't take any pictures!  It was slightly chaotic because Clark BUSTED both lips open just as we were walking in so that sort of set the tone for the night.  :) )
Anyway, Halloween night we went over to the Wilson's house for a fun little party.  My pictures are kind of random.  Sorry about that.  We had a yummy dinner, and then headed out to do some old fashioned trick or treating!
Here's the hostess, Nicki, (Wendy) pulling her little Reese (Tinkerbell) along with her niece.

Just a snapshot of some of the crew: including Mammadou, a BU basketball player.  The Wilsons have taken him under their wing!

This picture warms my heart.  I love that it captures me with my chunky monkey on my hip, his chunky little leg, and his darling little smile.  It's not that great of a picture, but it does make me smile.  These are the days.

AnnMarie and Brody. These two broke away early from the pack and went house to house with no distractions!  They were serious!

So sweet.  Sister taking Bubba up for his first Trick or Treat

When we got home, I took AM to some neighbors' houses.  Before we left we lit our jack-o-lantern.

And after a couple streets, we were pooped, and her pumpkin was FULL.  I think you can tell from the picture that her tummy was too.
Goodnight, Halloween!

Pumpkin Palooza

So before I tell you about Pumpkin Palooza, I have to show you this cutie bug picture of AM with a couple buddies from school, Charley and Amanda.
And Amandaaaaaaa is the friend who's mommy hosted the Pumpkin Palooza! Nice segway?
My little missy got all dolled up to go to this shindig.  Yikes, she looks really old, doesn't she?  Oh, sister, you are my beautiful little girl.  Please don't grow up!

AnnMarie ran around with Tinkerbell (Amanda) and Sleeping Beauty (Ally).

It was so fun!  Look at all these creative goodies!

And they did a little pumpkin bowling.

The host and hostess: Fred and Wilma!
I had to add this one!  Check out this creative family--complete with prisoners, the policeman, the bank robber, and the bag of money! haha!

Big brother Cole was Davy Crockett.
Donut bobbing!
Clarky found one of these sugar water drinks and guzzled it.  The end of that story is that he was up for 3 hours that night. :)  No doubt with a sugar induced tummy ache!

Emily (Wilma) threw such a fun fall party!  We are so happy to have fun neighbors just a stone's throw away!

Baylor Homecoming

Baylor Homecoming is always a fun weekend here in town because it always brings in old friends from out of town and provides lots of fun activities for the kids (and for us too).
We always head out to the parade bright and early.  This year it was rainy so we weren't sure how much of the parade we'd get to enjoy.
Sooooooo, I thought--let's immediately try for a sibling photo.
Nope.  One was not having it.
Try #2.  Daddy, how bout you try holding him?
Nope.  AM's smile hasn't changed.  Clark's stance hasn't either.
And, three strikes, we're out.
Clark won, and presumed to go about his business exploring the crowd and checking out this dog.
Hmm..Finally a way to reign him in.
We met up with Clark's buddy, Griffin.  Isn't this too cute?  Could be foreshadowing of real jerseys one day?  :)

And that was the last pic I took of the day!
The fun didn't stop there though.  After the parade we headed to a fun party over at the Horners' house.  I think Sean and I's hands were too full to take pictures!
Griffy's aunt Julie (so wonderfully!) offered to babysit Bubba so we could take AM to the game that afternoon.  After a lightning delay, we decided to head home since we didn't have ponchos, and we I REALLY wanted to watch the Auburn/LSU game.  And---I'm so glad we did because our babysitting bill would have been sky high and the game didn't end up ending up starting until 2 hours later.

On that note, can I just give a shout out to my tigers???  At the top of the charts in NCAA football.  WAR EAGLE
