"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

10th Anniversary trip

2003-2013  Don't know how it got here so quickly, but it did.  :)
TEN YEARS!
We figured it was worth celebrating--big--because making it ten years these days is a big deal!  We decided to go to the Bahamas and ended up being there on the actual day, July 19th.
We kicked off our trip with dinner at the restaurant where it all started...where we had our first date!  P.F. Chang's in Addison.  (Luke joined us too--had to squeeze in a visit with little bro!)

Our flight was BrIgHt and eArLy departing at 5:30 am.  Sooo, that means we had to leave Luke's house at 3:30.  Thank goodness Starbucks was open!

But getting up early to go to THE BAHAMAS is easy.  Our view of the islands as we were landing...

First steps on the beach!  Gorgeous!

Our first night it stormed pretty badly so we had a cozy dinner at the English pub.

That night I had the best chocolate mousse I've ever had.  Unbelievable.

One of the highlights of the resort for Sean was the scenic golf course---right on the ocean!  It was so pretty!!  I got to be the caddy, and Sean (whoops) lost alot of balls.

Dinner pic on our actual anniversary!

Five days just like this

Our last day was the best.  We went on a snorkeling tour with some new couple friends we made there and had a wonderful time!

The Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed on Great Exuma (the island we were on), and our boat captain actually ferried Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom to work every day.  Not a bad gig!

We found the hugest (and only) living starfish I've ever seen!  Amazing!  It was really heavy and spiky!

Then he took us to an out island where we could get a drink and relax for awhile.  I got to pet some cute (big) stingrays!  They were so slimy and squishy! and friendly!  I loved it!

Ahhhhh love this pic!  EXACTLY what we pictured (and wanted) the Bahamas to be.  PaRaDiSe........

Last dinner on the beach----some of the best fresh grilled fish we've EVER had.

Our new friend, Terrance----he and Katie were from Americus, GA, and Terrance is an Auburn grad!  Good people.  :)  Sad I didn't get a pic with Katie though!  This was on our way out of the Bahamas.  They took us to the airport WAY early, and we had time to kill.  In the heat, outside.  It was super hot, but glad we had each other!
Goodbye, Bahamas...until next time!
