"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

Swim lessons

We kicked off our summer with swim lessons.  Clarky went first right after school was out.
He went to his last year at "Miss Sandy's" and loved it.  No fear of the water in this guy!

Ready to jump!

All week he swam with his favorite teacher of all time, "M.J.".  Unfortunately, though, M.J. could not be there on the last day so Clark got to swim with M.J.'s mom.  She was super sweet!

Practicing the "monkey crawl"

Yay!  Congrats, Bubba, for being such a great two year old swimmer and loving every minute of it.

Clark with two of his buddies, Griffin and Drew.

Hope you enjoyed sweet Ms. Sandy, because next year little do you know you're going to the "Swim Nazis"! :)  Something tells me though, it won't be as traumatic for you as it was for big sis.

...Speaking of the swim nazis...
AnnMarie took a year off from swim lessons last year because she had made so much progress the year before and had turned into a little fish.  But, I did notice that at the end of the summer, she still needed practice on coming up for air while swimming across the pool.  She would swim for miles without taking a breath! :)
Getting instructions from Mrs. Nazi

Go!
Tread water!

Now swim!

Now swim with a partner and come up for side breaths!
I did not get pictures of it, but they also jumped in and immediately flipped to their backs to swim to the end of the pool.

So glad we had our good friend, Jack, in there with us!

Congratulatory hug from little bro

With teachers, Mrs. Joy and Mrs. Allison.  They do have a strict reputation in town, but hey, they get results, people!  I kid with that name, but the truth is they are wonderful at their jobs and really work hard all week to get these kids strong with their swimming skills.
We're so proud of how hard you worked, AM!  Daddy and I think you are an A#1 swimmer!!

MC watched with Gigi

Jack's little sis, Elizabeth, and the Clarkster watched on the sidelines.  Get ready for your turn next year, kiddos!
