"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

-Sally Clarkson from the Mission of Motherhood

The Good thing about January

(and I have to remind myself that January is good and not a letdown after the holidays)
is that it's a fresh start! --to the waistline, to getting things cleaned out after bringing more in from the holidays, to the schedule, to resolutions, etc. But before I did any of that, I had fun with these two this month:
AnnMarie and I did some cooking with her new little set of pans. Thank you, Grandmommy!
The finished product---mini meatloves. :)
Sometimes I lament about the condensation on our old, single pane windows, but on one of these cold, wintery January mornings, I caught a glimpse of some little things I'll miss one day. See 'em?

AnnMarie had a playdate with Ella--finally!
Clark was greeted excitedly after his nap. (as always)
Now back to the organizational month---I love it! Snagged this little folder holder and put things in place.
I breathed a huge sigh of relief after getting my pantry in a little better order. Cans, boxed mixes, pasta, soup, were falling all over themselves (and me every time I opened the door!) in a stacked up mess on this shelf. Walla! labeled tubs. Ah, January.
AM got brand new "cowgirl" boots and jeans during our trip to Midland. She's wearin em out!
We went to THE cutest Baylor Bears party for our friend Karoline. A BIG hit with AM because the REAL cheerleaders and Bruiser were there. wow. dream come true. check.

Cause My Hooooooooome's in Alabama...

Well, it's really not, but a big piece of my heart will always be there! (anyway, that's a great song if you've never heard it)
A couple weekends ago the whole Jurgensen crew boarded a plane and flew to AL for my cousin, Trey's, wedding. We had such a fun weekend, but it left me a little sad because it made me realize how much I miss the Browns (my mom's side of the family). :(
AnnMarie was a dancing MACHINE. She stayed up for the whole wedding and danced the night away.
Caroline caught her in a super dance move right here:

Our family at the wedding (Clarky made a short appearance and then stayed with a babysitter.)
The siblings (sorry about the sweaty picture!)

AnnMarie with cousin Mackenzie (my first cousin, Brad's, daughter)
Bubba at the rehearsal dinner
My little cousin, Bentleigh (she and AM became big buds)
Clark didn't last very long at the RD
So we made him a pallet (the chairs were blockading because the older WILDER cousins were running rampant)
The groom (in the black suit) with my other cousin, Jace, his girlfriend CiCi, and Alana, my cousin, Hank's wife
Mackenzie talking to Bentleigh
AnnMarie with my aunt Beverly (my mom's sister, mother of the groom)
My mom with her five siblings---in birth order of course
AM and Bentleigh having fun in the big tub
Ok, I'm about to post this pic twice, but it's because I wanted to take one showing the fur that I wore to the wedding. It was Sean's great grandmother's! (Mamaw) It was so fun to wear it!

Two tiny tots in their wedding duds
AnnMarie freestylin
sweet cousins
AnnMarie's dream come true shot----with the BRIDE, Tamara!
Sooooo, Julia, Caroline, and I show up to the wedding in short, red dresses. Right. We called ourselves the houseparty. :) The babysitters saw the three of us on separate occassions and commented that they, "really liked the bridesmaid dresses". :) Nope, just great minds thinking alike!!! hee
Actually, J & C bought the exact same dress! crazy
Our family gettin down (the Browns are big dancers so no one hardly sat down the entire night! My kind of party!)
The wedding star
Check out this move by AnnMarie:
As they left, we played with our sparklers in the rain!
Posing in the rain for a picture
The day after the wedding we relaxed at Beverly's, and AM got to play with Ava, who is the daughter of one of Bev's good friends. They were too cute!

Just to document, the kids did great on all the plane rides, and we had fun traveling with Josh, Julia, and Brooks!

Sweet Goodness

I mean, I just, I'm speechless. If you have time and want to, please click on this link and read this post on one of my FAVORITE blogs. It is so sweet and true! She took the words right out of my mouth. It's such great encouragement for us all.

*"When I'm four, I'm gonna play crouquet."

6 months baby Clark

Bubba is six months old! It can't be! It just can't be that half a year has already gone by. :(
I'll let Clark tell you about his month:
Mommy constantly squishes and squeezes me mercilessly. She likes to dress me up and make me pose. She really can't make me do anything though.
I love my sister the most. Daddy walked in and caught us being sweet to each other. Let's hope this lasts! :)
I got to take some baths in Gamma's sink. I loved it!
I think a lot. Not so much talking though.
This is the look I give Mommy to make sure I get whatever I want.
I can't escape sister's hugs either.
I try to eat everything.
I am a drool machine. Oh and give me that camera.
These puppies also melt Mommy's heart.
I promise Mommy did not hurt me while taking this picture. She just wanted me to show off my four teeth that I got this month. Yes, four. The top two were very bad to me, Mommy says.
I chowed on the table when Mommy wasn't looking.
I went on a date with Julia. She tried to hold my hand. I let her.
I LOVE that I'm big enough to take baths with sissy now.
Clark's stats:
height: 27 1/4"
weight: 22.3
head circumference: 44 1/2 cm
*sitting up well
*starting to make more noises
*wakes up happy
*has gone back to being a great sleeper
*loves his bottles more than solid food
*is SO ticklish!!
*laughs the hardest at AnnMarie
*still cuddles with Mommy as long as she wants
*wearing 12-18 months
*leaks through his diaper every morning after sleeping all night---think we might have to start doubling up with the next size diaper
