"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

The Good thing about January

(and I have to remind myself that January is good and not a letdown after the holidays)
is that it's a fresh start! --to the waistline, to getting things cleaned out after bringing more in from the holidays, to the schedule, to resolutions, etc. But before I did any of that, I had fun with these two this month:
AnnMarie and I did some cooking with her new little set of pans. Thank you, Grandmommy!
The finished product---mini meatloves. :)
Sometimes I lament about the condensation on our old, single pane windows, but on one of these cold, wintery January mornings, I caught a glimpse of some little things I'll miss one day. See 'em?

AnnMarie had a playdate with Ella--finally!
Clark was greeted excitedly after his nap. (as always)
Now back to the organizational month---I love it! Snagged this little folder holder and put things in place.
I breathed a huge sigh of relief after getting my pantry in a little better order. Cans, boxed mixes, pasta, soup, were falling all over themselves (and me every time I opened the door!) in a stacked up mess on this shelf. Walla! labeled tubs. Ah, January.
AM got brand new "cowgirl" boots and jeans during our trip to Midland. She's wearin em out!
We went to THE cutest Baylor Bears party for our friend Karoline. A BIG hit with AM because the REAL cheerleaders and Bruiser were there. wow. dream come true. check.
