"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

Nine Years and a Circus

...and I wasn't just referring to our family...

The circus came to town!  The real one!  It was bonafide!

We didn't plan the stripes, but we did plan the company.

We got there early for the pre-show, and it was well worth it!  Up close and personal with the circus performers and elephants

The clown entertainer

We're ready!

AnnMarie jumped in the conga line.

Balancing a bicycle on his chin.  wOw
Then the kids balanced feathers.

Limbo!

Ok and now some pics from the real show!

Clearly the elephants were my favorite.

Only at the circus: guys on motorcycles racing at high speeds inside a metal ball.  Just going in circles--sideways.

Clark thought "hold up your toy" meant: "cover your face".

Reality
We went to the circus on our 9th wedding anniversary.  July 19th, 2012.  Funny thing is, when I bought the tickets, I didn't realize until a couple weeks later that it was our anniversary.  Oops!  I guess three kids has done me in!  Oh well, we had a great time celebrating with our big kids.

And Sean remembered...
:)
