"The fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and his purposes, and to send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully."

Hill Country getaway

Last weekend Sean and I got to get away for a weekend to celebrate our seventh anniversary. Thanks so much, Mom and Dad, for keeping our babies!!
We stayed at a cute little B&B in Fredericksburg. It felt just like a cabin on a farm somewhere, but it was actually all new construction!
I really didn't take a lot of pictures because the break from working/"phoning"/ etc. etc. was nice, but here's a quaint little house I spotted just down the street from where we stayed. So calm...
The windmill and sistern at our B&B
Sean and I at one of our relaxing, no taking anyone to the bathroom, no wrangling a toddler dinners.
The best part of our trip was taking a little day trip on Saturday about two hours south down near Uvalde to (unexpectedly) float the Frio. (We had planned on going to beautiful Garner state park down there, but it was closed. Turns out we had a much better excursion!)
The Frio was gOrGeOuS!!!! Crystal clear water, not crowded, beautiful pebbles under you as you floated slowly along. Really---so so pretty and a well kept secret different than the well known Guadalupe and Comal. We will definitely be back!
We had a great time relaxing and recharging to be back in action with our two munchkins that of course we talked about and missed the whole time! :) Cheers to year eight!

Cheers to 8 is right! That is an awesome way to celebrate. Love that great house. I've never been to Fburg. Want to GO! I think it would be a great Cracker Toffee get away.

Happy Anny!

We went to the Bejas Grill when we were there earlier this summer. Did you happen to try the peach margarita? Yummy!! I loved your little B&B too, looks so relaxing and quiet. Maybe we'll have to try that spot next time. Glad you had a chance to get a way and rest!

Happy 7th! Seems like yesterday I was in a green bridesmaid dress drinking wine at a Waco reception. Love the location and curious about the Frio. Love AM's first day of school and a great teacher - great name too!
